News and Announcements

Miami and Ft. Lauderdale was certainly buzzing this weekend with the NBA Eastern Finals between the Heat and Bulls in the air. However in Coral Springs, the Best Youth AAU Teams from Dade and Broward County were slugging it out in the annual and very popular 2011 Gold Coast AAU Super Regional Tournament.

Gold Coast Basketball Club (operated by Barry, Jarrod, & Marla Lazarus) known for creating a launchpad for many of the State of Florida’s very best basketball players having commited to top colleges such as; Minnesota, Kansas State, Boston College, Duquesne, Colorado State, Central Michigan and many others, were the gracious and professional hosts.

Our 7th Grade team entered into this event with that feel of an outsider while challenging teams who are from South Florida in this Super Regional. With a commitment to “Play the Best in AAU” we continue to travel into regions outside of Brevard County to play the best in other parts of the State, as well as other States.

Not only was the building full of Top Players who’ve committed to big college programs, but lined with big program coaches like the legend Shakey Rodriquez and other scouts, who took a moment to get familiar with the 7th grade championship game while awaiting the 11th & 12th grade championship games that would follow.

While filming, I was asked by several coaches; “where is Brevard Elite from” and “who is number so & so” going down the line as our Brevard Elite team disected the top team in South Florida by 28 points. Once again going undefeated for the weekend and with an average of 67.2 points per game, the 7th Grade team was victorious defeating the top AAU teams in South Florida for the Gold Coast Super Regional Championship. Congratulations! GO ELITE! Next up….Atlanta for the Georgia AAU Super Regional.

Another great day for Brevard Elite Basketball…A Loud and Proud BIG Congratulations goes out to the 3rd Grade Team for doing so well in the 2011 State of Florida Championships held this weekend at the University of Florida. This team overcame extremely tough competition capped off by a big Semi-Finals win over the AVB Cavaliers who have proven to be one of our big rivals in previous tournaments. Can’t say enough about the effort these boys put out and the mental toughness displayed by such a young team. Again, a well deserved CONGRATULATIONS to the 3rd Grade Team, Coaches Lennear & Scott, and especially to the parents who because of them….this all goes! Brevard Elite Basketball in its inagural year is quickly becoming a great success and well known in Brevard County and throughout the entire State of Florida AAU basketball circuit. Its with great pleasure we participate among these talented players and within the AAU where the BEST basketball teams in the nation compete.

Go Elite! To Be the Best You Must First Play the Best and Compete with the Best!

A Big Brevard Elite Basketball Congratulations goes out to the 7th Grade D1 Team for a tremendous weekend at the 2011 AAU State Championships in Orlando. This is a team that has been playing together only since January, clearly showed the landscape of seasoned AAU coaches and a myriad of the strongest teams in the State of Florida, that Brevard Elite Basketball is coming for the top spot in Division 1.

Brevard Elite led the tournament with an incredible offensive 5 game scoring average of 70.8 points, yet fell short of that average in the championship game.

The 7th Grade team will be competing next weekend at the University of Central Florida for another State/District title and expects to meet back up with some these great teams in Division 1.

To Be the Best, You’ve Got to Play the Best!

And Make No Mistake, The Only “Elite” in Brevard County… Displays it Proudly Across the Chest of their Uniforms!

Go Elite!

Congratulations goes out to Coach Stewart, Coach Delgado, and the awesome 6th Grade Boys Brevard Elite basketball team for going undefeated to become the 2011 AAU State/District Champions this past weekend at the University of Central Florida.

Its takes allot hard work, commitment, and especially great parent support to realize this very important achievement. The entire Brevard Elite organization is very proud of this accomplishment and can’t wait for this team’s next tournament, plus their now solidified bid to the 2011 6th grade AAU National Championships in Hampton, Virginia in early July!!!! Go Elite!!!

Elite’s 6th Grade Team brought home the Gold Medals, Championship that accompanies them this past weekend from the 2011 AAU ESPN/Disney Easter Classic Super Regional earning them another National Bid. Congratulations to the team, Coaches’ Stu and Delgado. This 6th grade team went through both Pool Play and the Bracket Rounds without a single loss and defeated most teams by 20 plus points over this loaded 3 day weekend event. The Elite Family could not be more proud.

The 7th Grade fell just short of a finals meeting re-match with Florida Family (this years Champions) after a very close game with Each 1 Teach 1 Dynasty a stacked team with local NBA players son’s and sponsored by Amar’e Stoudemire as well as coached by Bo Outlaw (Orlando Magic/NBA). E1T1 fell to FL Family by 5 in the finals. Losing to the Best is the only way to go! Elite reached this pinnacle game by defeating both its local rivals the Brevard Bulls and Brevard (Lakers) Elite in tough fought games.

Our 3rd Grade team overcame two stunning losses and fought back in the bracket round to knock off the number#1 seed Tampa Bay Warriors before a tough loss to the finals bound Cavaliers. This young team, has only been playing together for 3 weeks and should be given the most improved award for their toughness and strong will for entering these events with no fear. We love you guys…keep working hard, you are ELITE!
